The AICPA Statement of Auditing Standards (“SAS”) 70 involves a review of a service provider’s processes along various audit criteria. While the global auditing forms conduct such audits on a regular basis, enterprise companies that have a regional or local audit firm should consider hiring a specialized audit firm to conduct SAS 70 audits of its suppliers.
